  • Overview

    The licensed loan officer assistant assists the loan officer with miscellaneous task pertaining to the loan process on a day to day basis.

    Responsibilities

    Provides proactive administrative support to MLOs.

    Assists the Mortgage Loan Originator in completing Residential Mortgage Loan Applications.

    Assists the Mortgage Loan Originator in reviewing credit and income documentation.

    Proficiently assist in the development of financial objectives in association with present loan data.

    Systematically store and maintain client data and files.

    Handles questions and concerns from clients.

    Follows up with clients to obtain necessary documentation.

    Facilitates and maintains relationship between the MLO, customer, real estate agent, operations staff, insurance agent, and closing agent.  Answers phones, takes messages, and schedules appointments.

    Assists in managing the MLO’s pipeline and closing reports to ensure deadlines are met on all loans.

    Manages all Interest Rate Locks to ensure that interest rates do not expire.

    Maintains and updates customer contact information.

    Keeps MLO current on company/industry information, including webinars and conference calls.

    Provides computer support and updates by monitoring email inbox while MLO is unavailable.

    Updates and distributes sales meeting guides and other tools available to MLOs.

    Coordinates continuing education and licensing requirements with MLO and compliance.

    Reviews training needs with MLO and provides support when needed.

     

    Qualifications

    • Valid NMLS License is required.
    • At least one year of experience in the mortgage business and loan processing.
    • Experience using Loan Origination Systems, Encompass experience preferred.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Database Management, Power Point, etc.).
    • Can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.
    • Must have flexibility and a willingness to learn new tasks.
    • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
    • Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
