  • Overview

    Primary Responsibilities: Originating new loans; complete, up-front pre-qualification of client  determination of appropriate loan program; taking a complete loan application; proper set up of loan file; up-front communication to borrower(s) of all required documentation to close transaction; establishing ongoing communication with borrower(s), real estate agents and 3rd party providers; timeline & management of loan pipeline; overall knowledge of industry (products, pricing, process, third party services, compliance, regulation); sales and customer service.

    Responsibilities

    • Present the reverse mortgage products to prospective clients by phone, in person meetings and in group presentations.
    • Communicates professionally and clearly to clients (on the phone and in person) when explaining reverse mortgages.
    • Spend 80% of the day “self-sourcing” to generate new business with realtors, trusted advisors, builders, insurance agents, attorneys, consumer-direct methods and calling on established relationship including company sponsored relationship and leads.
    • Maintains a high level of accountability for results and metrics.
    • Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
    • Knowledge of the skills, methods and technologies used to process new loan applications; ability to perform loan origination activities while adhering to established policies and procedures.
    • Attend all trainings, sales meetings and orientations as directed by the company.
    • Increase public awareness of the industry by reading publications and subscribing to the industry blogs.
    • Responsible to network to build and expand database; including but not limited to potential clients and referral sources.
    • Ongoing marketing and contact network in person, mailings or by phone.
    • Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions, and ability to leverage that information in creating customer solutions.
    • Customer Service: Treat each client (internal and external) with a high level of respect and courtesy; keep commitments; return phone calls & emails in a timely manner (same day minimum); under promise, over deliver; be available to clients and delegate that responsibility if out of the office (always have a point of contact during an absence); maintain a professional attitude at all times.
    • Compliance: Turn in complete loan application, complete understanding of all state / federal guidelines including but not limited to Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending act (TILA), Fair Lending laws (ECOA, FCRA, Privacy Act, etc.), Patriot Act, HMDA, MDIA, SARS; understand/ explain client disclosures; adherence to specific product guidelines; accurate presentation of the borrower and property to lend.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma, GED, or military experience equivalent
    • Two or more years of experience in sales within mortgage or financial services preferred
    • Currently possesses NMLS and MLO licensing in any of the following resident state ; CA., TX., FL., CO., NV., WA., or OR.
    • Ability to achieve sales goals and perform metrics
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Able to use Internet, and Company software programs.
