Works closely with the Credit Risk Officer to ensure that all files have been evaluated and meet the company standards.
Responsible for reviewing mortgage applications for their completeness.
Ensures all information is filled in and all documents are included.
Returns the application packet to the processor if it is incomplete to obtain the missing information.
Must check in the loan origination software system to ensure accurate information has been entered.
Must be able to use various online sources to carry out credit checks, flood determinations, property searches and tax statuses.
Is required to understand our policy for approving loans.
Must be able to calculate the appropriate Loan-to-Value and Debt-to-Income ratios to make an accurate assessment.
Will approve the loan when the company standards have been met.
Will specify the closing conditions so that the file is complete and all applicable regulations are met.
Mist be able to assess all files beyond what is on paper. Should look at all factors about a borrower not limiting themselves to one isolated number.
Knowledge and experience working with FHA, Conventional, VA, and USDA loans.
At least five years of experience in underwriting loans.
Have worked with DU or LP.
